The Fresh Brothers Story
The Fresh Brothers story starts in Chicago with the Goldberg brothers, Adam and Scott. Scott opened the Miller Pizza Company in 1985, embracing Chicago-style pizza. With the goal of taking Chicago to the coast, brother Adam and his wife Debbie opened the first Fresh Brothers in SoCal in 2008. They combined their family recipes with fresh ingredients, putting a California twist on traditional pizza. This old-school pizza with upgraded nutrition was a hit, and Fresh Brothers only grew from there.Learn More
Why We Love Burbank
Burbank's main industry varied across the years, evolving from a small farm town to the diverse suburban-city mix it is today. When looking at the town today, it's clear that Burbank is entertainment-oriented and well-connected. Because of its proximity to Hollywood, Burbank is home to many studios. Among them are Warner Brothers Entertainment, Walt Disney Company, Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Burbank Studios, Cartoon Network Studios, ABC, Insomniac Games, and Legendary Pictures. Of course, the town has served as the backdrop for much of the media created in these studios. You'd likely recognize parts of Burbank, like particular shopping centers, schools, and open spaces, for their appearance on the big screen. Many movies have been filmed here, including The Princess Diaries (2001) and portions of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, to name the most popular. It comes as no surprise that the International Academy of Film and Television resides here — where else could be more perfect than Burbank? In addition to its Hollywood-esc attractions, Burbank is also a residential suburb, filled with family homes, private and public schools, and many walkable areas. For younger, single adults, Downtown Burbank offers opportunity in the form of abundant office space and luxury apartments, and many people work in the area. Downtown is also known for its swanky hotspots and cool shopping districts. Burbank hosts an impressive collection of libraries: Burbank Public Library, Buena Vista and Northwest Park branches of said library, and the Southern California Genealogical Society. Its City Hall is part of the United States National Register of Historic Places.
Burbank is a bustling city nestled in Los Angeles County, just behind sprawling Griffith Park. Burbank is considered a part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, just 10 miles outside of the city. It's northwest of Downtown Los Angeles, and is a charter city with a council-manager form of government. Burbank has experienced immense growth in recent years, and it now has a population of just over 100,000. The residents of Burbank live within two main areas: the downtown, foothill section of the Verdugo Mountains, and the flatland areas. Downtown is more youthful and busy, while the flatlands are known for their suburban feel. There's hot summers consisting of dry heat because of Burbank's Mediterranean climate, but the area is well-affected by El Niño and La Niña.
Wondering how Burbank got its origins? Like most of the greater Los Angeles area, it was originally settled to be part of a farm. Burbank was named after Dr. David Burbank, a dentist who not only practiced his profession but also established a sheep ranch in the 1860s. He realized the land was great for growing food and raising livestock, and took advantage of the profitability of the land. Later, Burbank received a tech upgrade: an airport! It was used as Lockheed's location for secret and technologically-advanced aerospace production. Around the 1920s, motion pictures first arrived in Burbank. Because of its proximity to Hollywood, Burbank flourished with a rich cinematic history. The scenery of Burbank can be seen in well-known movies Casablanca (1942) and Blazing Saddles (1974).
There's a lot to love about Burbank: a unique history, incredible scenery, and vital ties to the entertainment industry. Yet, out of all things Burbank that we love, Fresh Brothers adores the people the most! Because Burbank is the Media Capital of the World, it comes as no surprise that it's home to actors, writers, directors, and retired superstars of every field. Its ever-growing downtown area gives it city vibes, and new apartments and eateries are always popping up. The duality of Burbank means that it also offers a small-town feel for its many families, as seen by tiny boutiques, community gatherings, schools, and the Magnolia Park neighborhood. Fresh Brothers also adores the strong culture found here in Burbank, from comedy shows to film festivals.
Donned the "Media Capital of the World," Burbank is home to a plethora of entertainment headquarters and production facilities. When visiting, it's essential to check out the studios that offer tours and get a look behind the scenes of your favorites shows and movies. Additionally, the Burbank Town Center is a popular shopping spot. You might even recognize it, because it was often used as a backdrop for numerous films and TV series. If you're into relaxed window-shopping and taking a stroll, the neighborhood of Magnolia Park offers vintage clothing stores, antique shops, boutiques, and a small-town feel. It's also a great place to stop for luxury small bites at cutesy cafes and restaurants. Burbank also has many libraries and parks worth exploring.
Fresh Brothers believes in feel-good pizza, and that means going beyond the pie. In addition to providing out neighborhoods with nutritious, all-natural pizza, we also play an active role in the community. Each year, we donate thousands of pizzas, helping to raise money for schools, veterans, and nonprofits. Serving up happiness, one slice at a time.Learn More
