The Fresh Brothers Story
The Fresh Brothers story starts in Chicago with the Goldberg brothers, Adam and Scott. Scott opened the Miller Pizza Company in 1985, embracing Chicago-style pizza. With the goal of taking Chicago to the coast, brother Adam and his wife Debbie opened the first Fresh Brothers in SoCal in 2008. They combined their family recipes with fresh ingredients, putting a California twist on traditional pizza. This old-school pizza with upgraded nutrition was a hit, and Fresh Brothers only grew from there.Learn More
Why We Love Encino
Fresh Brothers can't help but to love Encino. Encino is known for being a quiet yet busy upscale urban area with an abundance of the classic L.A. charm. Surrounded by old money in the form of cities like Bel Air and Brentwood, Encino is notably classy. This beautiful, outdoorsy city is home to many YouTubers, actors, comedians, and singers — each extraordinarily famous within their personal creative niches. While once the home to Spanish Portola ranches, Encino has abandoned its agriculture routes in favor of its now primarily professional, social, and health care services. The area is clearly family-friendly. The area is walkable, contains plenty of large homes, and contains many LAUSD-run public elementary and middle schools, plus local private schools. The people of Encino have made a point to ensure the history of this town is not to be forgotten, and Encino commemorates it in the Los Encinos State Historic Park with the de la Ossa Adobe. In addition to a rich culture and strong community, Encino offers more than enough to do here for both residents and visitors alike. The Sepulveda Garden Center is community-owned, with 420 plots across 16 acres — plenty of room to get your own growing goin'! The Encino Velodrome is an indoor cycling space, and Encino also contains a sports complex with a 400+ capacity gym, and the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area, and more. If you're visiting, be sure to check out Encino's annual Fall Fair, Encino Chamber Bowling Tournament, and the Encino Family Festival
Encino is a small city north of Los Angeles flanked by Reseda, Sherman Oaks, and Bel-Air, among others. Wondering about the origin of its name? It's derived from the massive California Encino Oak Trees, which Encino was home to many of. It's located in the San Fernando Valley region, within Los Angeles County. There are a number of stunning outdoor spaces, including the Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park, Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park, and the Lake Balboa Park. The city has a moderate population of 44,000. Residents often find their newly-renovated homes nestled in the north slope of the Santa Monica Mountains, giving them stunning views. Encino is governed by its own Neighborhood Council, but is also partially governed by its presence in the Los Angeles City Council.
Encino started as a Spanish Portola expedition in 1769, and was a portion of the inland California areas first seen by Europeans. As Europeans explored inland California, they made a pit stop in Encino's local park, now referred to as Los Encinos State Historic Park. When explorer Gaspar de Portola was greeted by the Native Americans in the area, they met under mighty oak trees. Oak tree in Spanish is Encino, which inspired the city's title. The city was originally termed "El Valle de Santa Catalina de Bolonia de Los Encinos," but became shortened to Encino for simplicity's sake. After some time, ranchos moved in, forming adobes and cattle grazing farms. As land was bought up by developers, the community and chamber continued to grow and diversify.
Fresh Brothers serves a wide range of communities, and each has their own individual aspects that make it a joy to serve. Of them is obviously Encino, and it's not because of their expansive greenery or rich history — though those play a part! In fact, our favorite part of Encino will always be the people. We adore Encino, and it's easy to see why with residents like theirs. Encino is home to creatives — a bunch of YouTubers, actors, comedians, and singers — giving the town a creative and accepting atmosphere. Their arts and culture can be seen in museums and community traditions. In addition, people here love to get outside and enjoy being outdoorsy. They frequent the many parts and recreational areas available to the public.
For a town located in the Santa Monica Mountains and named after the presence of ancient, tall oak trees, it comes as no surprise that Encino features plenty to do outdoors. The Los Encinos State Historic Park is a 5-acre space that has far more than just greenery, also containing historic buildings, a blacksmith shop, a pond, and a natural spring for residents to enjoy. The Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area has a cricket complex, and the Balboa Sports Complex has a large gym and outdoor fields for a multitude of sports. There's golf courses, garden centers, and even dog parks so furry friends can get their outdoors time. Every year, the 2,000 Pink Cloud cherry trees blossom at the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area and Encino holds its Fall Fair.
Fresh Brothers believes in feel-good pizza, and that means going beyond the pie. In addition to providing out neighborhoods with nutritious, all-natural pizza, we also play an active role in the community. Each year, we donate thousands of pizzas, helping to raise money for schools, veterans, and nonprofits. Serving up happiness, one slice at a time.Learn More
