The Fresh Brothers Story
The Fresh Brothers story starts in Chicago with the Goldberg brothers, Adam and Scott. Scott opened the Miller Pizza Company in 1985, embracing Chicago-style pizza. With the goal of taking Chicago to the coast, brother Adam and his wife Debbie opened the first Fresh Brothers in SoCal in 2008. They combined their family recipes with fresh ingredients, putting a California twist on traditional pizza. This old-school pizza with upgraded nutrition was a hit, and Fresh Brothers only grew from there.Learn More
Why We Love Hermosa Beach
Fresh Brothers loves Hermosa Beach's seaside vibes and welcoming culture, and we're more than proud to serve this area. This beachfront town is bustling despite its lower population. The weather is phenomenal, and residents take advantage of it often by surfing, playing, and relaxing in the sun. Hermosa Beach is perfect for those looking to enjoy a casual beach town with exciting nightlife. Pier Avenue features partying and bars, like Tower 12, Baja Sharkeez, and Hennessey's Tavern. There's plenty to visit for entertainment. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the Comedy and Magic Club, Lighthouse Cafe jazz venue, and annual traveling art galleries. Hermosa gathers as a community often, especially for events like the Hermosa Beach Sunset Concert series, Hermosa Beach Film Festival, the Arts and Crafts Festival every Memorial and Labor Day, and the weekly Farmers' Markets. On a casual day, residents can be found at the skatepark, Hermosa's numerous outdoor sport facilities, and, of course, at the beach.
Hermosa Beach is a beachfront town with a population right around 20,000. Located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area, Hermosa is one of three Beach Cities. Residents here enjoy a mild, average temperature of 70 degrees most of the year, and Westerly sea breezes keep temperatures lower during the summer. Located on the bay, there is the occasional morning fog or haze, but it burns off quickly, giving Hermosa its 325 days of sunshine a year.
Hermosa Beach's name comes from the Spanish word meaning “beautiful." It was originally part of 1784 Rancho San Pedro land grant. Hermosa was composed of barley fields, herds of sheep, corrals, horses, and farm implements. In 1904, the pier was built 500 feet into the ocean by the Hermosa Beach Land and Water Company, making the area popular amongst fishermen. The town grew with trolleys and railway systems, and was an incorporated city by 1907.
Fresh Brothers loves Hermosa Beach for a lot of reasons, but none of them top the people that live there. Everyone in Hermosa is active, setting aside time daily for sunbathing, beach volleyball, surfing, paddle-boarding, and cycling. There's plenty of parks and recreation, and the close community gathers often to celebrate their town. With a rich history in punk rock due to notable bands, like The Descendents, living or rehearsing there over the years, Hermosa is artsy and cultured.
There's always plenty to do in Hermosa. The Strand runs from Santa Monica to Torrance, and is used for jogging and cycling. Hermosa throws its own Ironman Triathlon, hosts an International Surf Festival, and is home to the Hennessey Paddle Board Festival. Locals love Pier Avenue's shopping, eating, and partying. There's lots of arts and culture, including the Arts and Crafts Festival, Hermosa Beach Film Festival, Shockboxx Art Gallery, and the Comedy and Magic Club.
Fresh Brothers believes in feel-good pizza, and that means going beyond the pie. In addition to providing out neighborhoods with nutritious, all-natural pizza, we also play an active role in the community. Each year, we donate thousands of pizzas, helping to raise money for schools, veterans, and nonprofits. Serving up happiness, one slice at a time.Learn More
