The Fresh Brothers Story
The Fresh Brothers story starts in Chicago with the Goldberg brothers, Adam and Scott. Scott opened the Miller Pizza Company in 1985, embracing Chicago-style pizza. With the goal of taking Chicago to the coast, brother Adam and his wife Debbie opened the first Fresh Brothers in SoCal in 2008. They combined their family recipes with fresh ingredients, putting a California twist on traditional pizza. This old-school pizza with upgraded nutrition was a hit, and Fresh Brothers only grew from there.Learn More
Why We Love Irvine
Fresh Brothers loves a lot of cities, and this love can be seen by the way we set up shop and choose to integrate ourselves into the best of the best. With that said, we very clearly adore Irvine; why else would we serve the community in not just one, but two awesome locations? This beautiful city in Orange County was initially planned to have a distinct architectural theme for each village sector, and the current architecture represents a melting pot of stunning designs. Residents enjoy strolling through Irvine's beautiful outdoor shopping centers, including The Market Place and the Irvine Spectrum Center, among others. Filled with broad, scenic open spaces, visitors in Irvine enjoy checking out the multitude of parks. To go beyond the monkey bars and catch some wildlife, Irvine also has the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary and the Santa Ana Mountains. There are plenty of bike corridors, parks, and greenbelts specifically designed to tie together the ecological preserves, and camping is a common activity among residents here. Irvine is large enough that it actually has different microclimates across the city, but generally experiences more mild winters and hot summers. With so much to do, it's no surprise that Irvine is home to a multitude of higher education institutions and their college students. Here, you'll find the campuses of schools including Concordia University, Irvine Valley College, Orange County Center of USC, and University of California, Irvine, as well as branch campuses for CSUF, University of La Verne, and Pepperdine.
In the depths of Orange County is Irvine, a master-planned city with a huge population. Once considered a small portion of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, Irvine has grown in recent years to become a full metropolitan area of its own. This broad, flat area is composed of just 66-square-miles, and yet is inhabited by a population of just over 285,000. It's bordered by cities like Tustin, Santa Ana, Lake Forest, Newport Beach, and more. The San Diego Creek flows through Irvine, mainly from Peters Canyon Wash, and is the primary watercourse draining in the city. Irvine is also flanked by Loma Ridge to the north and San Joaquin Hills to the south, and the topography of Irvine includes many hills, plateaus, and canyons in general.
How does a place like Irvine get its beginnings? Clues can be found in its ecology! Irvine, because of its large, flat areas, was originally used for ranches. Specifically, sheep were raised here, and grazed on the thousands of acres of land. In addition to livestock, Irvine was home to what can only be described as an absurd amount of lima bean farms; just about 60,000 acres of them to be exact. The Irvine Company, a family-owned business which had owned large portions of the land for generations, continued to open small sections of Irvine to urban development, leading to Irvine's eventual growth in residential populations. In 1959, University of California bought space for the Irvine campus. Since then, Irvine has only continued to grow!
Irvine has a population nearing 290,000 people, making it the third largest city in Orange County and the fourteenth largest city in all of California. With so many people here, it's clear that Irvine's popularity is a signal that it's the place to be. While its noteworthy universities, iconic architecture, and numerous parks add to the long list of things that make Irvine appealing, the best part of this city will always be the people. Fresh Brothers adores Irvine for its diversity, culture, and history, and couldn't be more proud to serve it. The residents are quick to gather and celebrate everything that makes Irvine the city it is, from railroad celebrations to agricultural corn festivals. The people here are outgoing, welcoming, and community-oriented, and it's the ideal place to visit.
You didn't think Irvine would miss a chance to celebrate its agricultural roots, did you? Irvine has a rich history, and there are plenty of ways to discover it both as a resident or tourist. Every year, the Irvine Global Village Festival celebrates the city's diversity with local merchants and food sampling. People of many cultures come and display goods and traditional meals, sharing their backgrounds. There's also the Irvine Park Railroad Anniversary Celebration, Spring Harvest Festival, Corn Festival, Sunflower Festival, and seasonal events. While lima beans were number one, Irvine hosted many types of crops during its past, and celebrates all of them. Additionally, Irvine has popular libraries like Heritage Park Regional, University Park, and Katie Wheeler. Residents also enjoy 20 community parks, over 50 neighborhood parks, and Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary.
Fresh Brothers believes in feel-good pizza, and that means going beyond the pie. In addition to providing out neighborhoods with nutritious, all-natural pizza, we also play an active role in the community. Each year, we donate thousands of pizzas, helping to raise money for schools, veterans, and nonprofits. Serving up happiness, one slice at a time.Learn More
