The Fresh Brothers Story
The Fresh Brothers story starts in Chicago with the Goldberg brothers, Adam and Scott. Scott opened the Miller Pizza Company in 1985, embracing Chicago-style pizza. With the goal of taking Chicago to the coast, brother Adam and his wife Debbie opened the first Fresh Brothers in SoCal in 2008. They combined their family recipes with fresh ingredients, putting a California twist on traditional pizza. This old-school pizza with upgraded nutrition was a hit, and Fresh Brothers only grew from there.Learn More
Why We Love Newport Beach
In mid-Orange County, you'll find the city of Newport Beach. This coastal town was incorporated as of September 1st, 1906, and has represented the Southern Californian lifestyle since. It's the 98th largest city in California with an estimated 85,000 residents. Newport Beach is so lovable, hence its big residential group, and Fresh Brothers is among its many fans. This waterfront beach town is not only coastal, but stretches up to the San Joaquin Hills. It sports a diversity of ecosystems, ranging from those at sea level to those at the peaks of mountain tops. The city was once used for maritime industries, but has since changed. The area is primarily residential now, made up of private homes. There are also private docks for recreational use, and Newport Beach is one of the largest recreational boat harbors on the West Coast. Newport is known for its great surf spots, sandy beaches, and year-round sunshine. It's the ideal beach for playing, paddle boarding, and all other water-oriented sports. Nearby Balboa Island offers waterfront paths, the Balboa Pier, the Pavillion, an arcade, and a ferry — all of which attract endless tourists. The Catalina Flyer ferry offers a ride to Catalina Island as well as having harbor tours, sport fishing, and whale watching. To the north is the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve to check out. Every year, Newport Beach holds plenty of annual events that bring together the community, including the Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival, International Yacht Races, and their annual Christmas Boat Parade.
Few beach towns are quite as notable as Newport Beach. This unique geographical region sits on the coast, located in Orange County, just south of Los Angeles. Strange in shape, Newport Beach is composed of isles and peninsulas, as well as small islands all connected together to form this city. Beyond its beach front property that sits at sea level, Newport Beach also stretches all the way up to the peaks of the San Joaquin Hills. The tallest point is Signal Peak, clocking in at 1100 feet in elevation. Through it runs the Santa Ana River, and it has a semi-artificial harbor formed for the old Newport Bay estuary. Newport experiences a semi-arid climate with mild weather year-round, but it's typically cooler because of the Pacific Ocean.
With "beach" in the name and a spot on the shorefront, it's no surprise that Newport Beach's history originates from its coastal location. Despite concerns that ships wouldn't fit through the narrow waterways of the small and intricate off-shore land bodies, settlers steered their ships through the bays of Newport and unloaded their cargo on its beaches. Newport Beach's name comes directly from the phrase "new port" — though that's not much of a surprise! The area quickly became useful for maritime industries, leading to booming industry. Soon, Newport Beach was known for boat building, ship building, and commercial fishing, among other similar industries. In the late 1800s, McFadden Wharf was built. Over time, the area became increasingly residential, giving us the Newport Beach we have today.
You don't have to look far for reasons why people love Newport Beach; there's so many! It's iconic for its coastal views, beachside homes, and year-round beautiful weather. Between the attractions, outdoor sight-seeing spots, and rich history, to pick a favorite part about Newport Beach isn't easy...unless you're Fresh Brothers. For us, being in this area is a delight for a very specific reason: the people! This community is friendly, outgoing, and loves the fresh foods we enjoy serving. Noteworthy for waterfront paths, ferry rides, and "the wedge," residents here get outside often and love appreciating the outdoors. Mostly residential, this community is very close-knit. People here take the chance to celebrate their fun community often, from annual festivals and parades to weekly farmers' markets.
Newport Beach is popular in every sense of the word. Long-standing residents say they couldn't imagine living anywhere else, and Newport Beach receives thousands of visitors each year. Part of its coolness comes from the fact that there's plenty to do in Newport Beach. The city hosts a number of seasonal events, and with year-round sunshine, these attractions are always a blast. Because of Newport's many sections, attractions often involve adventuring! On Balboa Island, there's a waterfront path with easy access from the ferry to shops and restaurants. Also on the island is a pier, pavilion, and a Fun Zone arcade. For those looking to get outside, "the wedge" is a great surf spot with large waves. Sailing, fishing, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle-boarding are all common too.
Fresh Brothers believes in feel-good pizza, and that means going beyond the pie. In addition to providing out neighborhoods with nutritious, all-natural pizza, we also play an active role in the community. Each year, we donate thousands of pizzas, helping to raise money for schools, veterans, and nonprofits. Serving up happiness, one slice at a time.Learn More
