The Fresh Brothers Story
The Fresh Brothers story starts in Chicago with the Goldberg brothers, Adam and Scott. Scott opened the Miller Pizza Company in 1985, embracing Chicago-style pizza. With the goal of taking Chicago to the coast, brother Adam and his wife Debbie opened the first Fresh Brothers in SoCal in 2008. They combined their family recipes with fresh ingredients, putting a California twist on traditional pizza. This old-school pizza with upgraded nutrition was a hit, and Fresh Brothers only grew from there.Learn More
Why We Love West Hollywood
If there's one place to visit in Los Angeles, it's surely West Hollywood. Known more colloquially as WeHo, this city is a part of Los Angeles County bordered by Beverly Hills, Beverly Grove, Fairfax, Hollywood, and Hollywood Hills West. Fresh Brothers loves West Hollywood for its character and exciting atmosphere. This eclectic area is home to the Sunset Strip, which offers endless music festivals, art installations, and attractions. Additionally, you'll find Sunset Boulevard, a street that contains some of the best L.A. nightlife available in all of the Los Angeles area. It's constantly bustling with younger people, hotspots for outings, and rock-music history. Many notable people call West Hollywood home, and there's a prominence of paparazzi around the "Thirty Mile Zone," a stretch filled with popular studios. West Hollywood has always been a progressive area. During the Prohibition Era, WeHo was liquor-friendly, drawing in fun nightlife and equally fun people. It's also prominent in LGBTQ history, and holds the Christopher Street West pride parade annually. About 40% of this community identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or nonbinary, making it an especially accepting and loving community. As of recent, West Hollywood was one of the first cities in the nation to adopt green building ordinances, putting eco-friendly solutions into action without second thought. Beyond its inherent beauty and culture, West Hollywood also offers something to do no matter the season or time of day! If you're visiting, definitely pencil in some time to visit its music venues, comedy shows, museums, and historic parks.
A night on the town or looking for a trendy spot to eat, West Hollywood is the place to be, and this bustling neighborhood is commonly referred to as WeHo. It's situated in Los Angeles County, and was incorporated into the county as of 1984. West Hollywood is most well-known for being home to the iconic Sunset Strip, a stretch of road with plenty of places to shop and eat. The population of 35,000 that calls West Hollywood home is lucky enough to enjoy the standard L.A. subtropical and semi-arid climate. There's year-round warm weather accompanied by nearly constant sun, and it's always a good time to get outside. To the north is Franklin Canyon Park and Mountains as well as Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills.
West Hollywood has a similar origin story to the rest of Los Angeles. Originally, Portugese explorers arrived and colonized the land, ultimately taking over with city streets and new names. What is now the Sunset Strip was the road that connected El Pueblo de Los Angeles, now Downtown LA, to the ranches along the Pacific Ocean. West Hollywood's geographical boundaries are a bit odd, leaving many to question its irregular appearance. The strange shapes are largely from acquiring unclaimed land not yet taken by surrounding cities, an aspect that only adds to the eclecticism that is West Hollywood's character. During the prohibition of the 1920s and early 1930s, West Hollywood was known for being liquor-friendly, attracting eclectic people, casinos, and nightclubs. WeHo is also especially prominent in LGBTQ history.
West Hollywood is known for many things, like high class shopping districts, incredible nightlife, and extensive history, but that's definitely not it. After all, it's not the buildings of a city that give it character, but the people! Above the shopping, bar-hopping, and band-rocking, Fresh Brothers' favorite part is the people! West Hollywood's origins began with the attraction of eclectic people during the Prohibition era, all of which gathered to find unique solidarity in being different. While years have passed, West Hollywood certainly hasn't lost its interesting touch, and it makes an impression on every visitor who stops through. Bustling with young people, aspiring artists and entertainers, and endless attractions, the people of West Hollywood are always excited and ready to have fun.
It's impossible to be bored when you're in West Hollywood — and trust us, we mean it! We think even the residents of West Hollywood would agree that this hotspot is a must-see for attractions small and large. WeHo is known for holding a multitude of annual events and festivities, most with rich backgrounds and meaning worth celebrating. The West Hollywood Halloween Carnival is the largest street party in America, attracting over 350,000 annually, and crowds the streets and bars to the brim. To commemorate the first anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, there's also the annual Christopher Street West LGBT pride parade! And of course, WeHo has music venues Whisky a Go Go, the Roxy, and the Viper Room, plus prominent entertainment spots like The Comedy Store.
Fresh Brothers believes in feel-good pizza, and that means going beyond the pie. In addition to providing out neighborhoods with nutritious, all-natural pizza, we also play an active role in the community. Each year, we donate thousands of pizzas, helping to raise money for schools, veterans, and nonprofits. Serving up happiness, one slice at a time.Learn More
